The Wages Of Liberalism, Part 1

Posted By TFMo on February 25, 2010

Unless you really stop and think about it, it’s easy to miss just how deeply the liberal/progressive/socialist/communist movement has embedded itself into our lives and altered the fabric of our country. We often talk about how badly biased the media is, or the rampant liberalism of Hollywood, or the corruption in our government, or the steady decline of education, but rarely to do we put it all together.

Two reasons for this, as best as I can figure. One, it’s depressing as hell. Two, the sheer scope of it makes War and Peace look like a fortune cookie. As any blogger can tell you, articles that run overlong tend to be overlooked. So I will try to break this down into sections, covering the life of a person whom I will refer to as “You.” I’m not implying that you, dear reader, are the subject of this article, I’m just doing it to drive home a point; this is what liberalism offers you. Second Person narrative tends to bring the reader further into the story, personalizing it even though the reader may have nothing whatsoever in common with the “You” in the story.

Conception to Birth

You are conceived. No need to go into the gory details about that.

Hopefully, your parents are married and in love, and financially stable enough to afford the blessing of a baby. All too often though, this is not the case. Most likely, you were conceived out of wedlock. Most likely, you were not planned.

In all likelihood, one of the first things that happened when you were discovered was that someone suggested you be aborted. This may have been a friend, maybe even a parent. Planned Parenthood and NARAL have worked very hard over the past 30-40 years to make sure your mother KNEW that she had a “choice.” The media certainly helped get that point across; why should a woman have to endure such a huge change to her lifestyle when a simple medical procedure can take all those troubles away.

They neglect to mention that all those “troubles” are a human being who will be killed as a result of that “choice.” Unfortunately, there are many doctors out there who are all-too willing to suggest abortion if there is even the slightest chance that there is something wrong with you. They also fail to mention that by freaking your mother out in such a way, they increase the chance that there WILL be something wrong with you. Your mother’s stress levels have a huge impact on your development in the womb.

They also fail to mention that the reason abortion is an option is because of the efforts of a woman named Margaret Sanger. Your mother probably never heard of her, and if she did, Sanger was most likely praised as a defender of women’s rights. What they omit is that Sanger was a eugenicist, who believed that only the wealthy, healthy white folk deserved reproductive rights. Any of less affluent background, less educated, maybe not quite healthy enough in either body or mind, or a member of what she termed the “weed” races needed to be, in her opinion, aborted and sterilized.

Your father, in the current scenario, is certainly of little help. He has almost no say whatsoever in whether or not you should be born. He may not even want that say; he may be a cad and not wish to have his lifestyle cramped by a child. He may even be the first to suggest you be aborted. He certainly isn’t interested in marrying your mother; he’s still got some wild oats to sow. He doesn’t want to be stuck paying child support for the next 18 years either.

It also doesn’t help that our current President feels that your mother shouldn’t be “punished” for making a mistake. Thankfully, you aren’t yet old enough to understand that the leader of the free world considers a baby a punishment. Thankfully, you don’t know yet that this same President fought to preserve the practice of partial birth abortion and the infanticide of a child who managed to survive that ghastly procedure.

But for the sake of this article, we will assume the best; that your mother chose not to kill you. You are born. Your mother probably hasn’t the money for the doctors, but that’s all right. The government takes the hard earned money from others to make sure the doctor is paid only thirty percent of what the procedure costs. The doctor will make up the difference by increasing what he charges to those who aren’t on the government’s “charity” list and thereby cause an economic crisis for which you will have to pay when you are old enough to earn a living. Congratulations! You’re only two seconds out of the womb and already a hundred grand in debt.
