UPDATE! Season’s greetings from a ten year old lap top! Yes, I’ve managed to stay connected, and I’ve even managed to recreate one of the Lil’ O-Bama strips that is currently trapped in the black hole that is my regular laptop. Granted, there are quality issues with the remake, and this computer isn’t half as powerful as my regular one, which makes for slow-going, but at least I’m managing to get SOMETHING done. Hopefully, I will have time over the next day or two to redo the final two strips of Hopenchangin’.

My computer has crashed. Hard. Apparently I caught some damnable virus somewhere, and it ate some of my SYSTEM files, which means I can’t even get the effing thing to open in Safe Mode.

Which means further updates of Hopenchangin’ are going to be delayed. Which pisses me off, because I actually finished the series, and got the compilation page done and ready for upload.

It also means that I can’t get onto Christmas Ghost’s site to update there either, or check my mail with her, which means, at the moment, she can’t update me on how her son is doing.

Last time this sort of thing happened, it turned out my motherboard was fried, and it took nearly two months to get the damn thing fixed. Given the holiday season, I imagine my machine is going to be put in line with a few hundred other computers, sent in by people who used the DVD tray as a coffee cup holder, couldn’t find the “Any” key, etc.

Then again, maybe we can get this figured out and simply download the missing SYS file using one of the seven or eight other computers around the house. Lord knows, I could use that bit of luck. But for now, all the base forms I use to make the strips, all the backgrounds, the size formats, the FTP addies, the passwords, the whole kit and caboodle, is stuck on $2000 dollar laptop that is currently less useful than a paperweight.

If it weren’t for the fact that Bar put this site together on one of her own computers, I would not even be able to make this post, proving once again that she is a far, far better wife than I deserve.

Updates on our status will come as I’m able. I’m going to try to redo some of those Lil’ O-Bama strips that are currently lost, but I can’t make any promises. Also the Patriotic Pin-up I promised to Bill Teach at Pirate’s Cove is temporarily postponed.

As I’ve said, I can still post on THIS site, so you’re all just gonna have to settle for an occasional rant instead of art work for the time being. Sorry if this has gone long, but I’m pretty frazzled right now.
