Nope, no cartoon yet. Sorry. I’ve been caught up in so many other things, I’m still noodling with the idea for today’s Lil’ Obama. Hopefully I’ll have it up later this evening.
So what’s going on? Well, I was SUPPOSED to go to my very first political meet-up yesterday, with the Greater Dallas Republicans…had a nice set of close set out, business cards printed out, shaved, everything all spiffy…but alas, the best laid plans of mice and men often go awry, and this was no exception. Apologies.
Last Wednesday’s JBYP Radio show was a big hit, THIRTY listeners! That quadrupled my previous record, so I’m pretty darn stoked about that…HUGE thanks again to my friend Tish Goff, the interview with her was spectacular! I’ve been getting a ton of messages about it, people wanting to hear more. Tish promised to let me know when anything new developed, so soon as I know something, YOU will hear it too!
There’s a movement on Facebook that’s been making the rounds of the last couple of days, brought on by New Black Panthers scumbags King Samir and Malik Shabazz…where they call for the DEATHS of “Crackers”, meaning white folks. Samir is the dreadlocked piece of crap that stood outside a Philly voting location in 2008, brandishing a billy club, spewing his racial hatred, and intimidating voters…and even though indictments were won against these creeps, the case itself WAS WON, Attorney General Eric Holder DROPPED THE CHARGES.
So we on Facebook decided to poke a little fun at all this, calling ourselves crackers of different varieties, and made a few group pages…which Facebook began deleting on the claim that WE were engaging in racist/hate speech.
So I sent out this post, which I will be using in Wednesday’s upcoming show:
Facebook has been deleting pages like this…it’s remarkable how quickly they’ve swooped down on US, and yet REAL hate-mongers like King Samir, the New Black Panthers, La Raza, Nation of Islam, CAIR, and so many, many others are STILL HERE, despite all the times they’ve been reported.
Inasmuch as the black community is given a pass when use the N-word amongst themselves, why then are WE being attacked for using a term THEY made for us?
Where is the PC Crowd when members of Islam demand the death of Jews? Where is the PC Crowd when these racist Black Panthers are in the street and on the internet demanding the DEATH of white people, white children, white babies?
Why is it that NO ONE seems to give a damn about “Political Correctness” until it can be leveled against a Caucasian?
I’m not a White Supremacist…as I have posted before, I’m nearly half Native American. But I’m deemed “White” enough to fall into that category; I’m a Cracker. I don’t care about race. I prefer Dr. Martin Luther King’s idea that a person should be judged by the content of his character, not the color of his skin.
Much like the black community took back the hated N-word…they get to use that term to their heart’s content, but it is utterly forbidden for a white person to even use it in a reference sentence…we are taking the term Cracker for ourselves. But we are not being exclusionary. We have Jewish Crackers, Hispanic Crackers, Native American Crackers, Asian Crackers, and yes, even Black Crackers.
We have decided to take this racist term and, instead of making societal demands of it, we are ridiculing it. This Cracker movement is a goof. We choose to laugh instead of hate. Instead of saying You Can’t Say This Word, we are encouraging EVERYONE, regardless of race, to join in the fun. Instead of feeling outrage and screaming in the streets, we’ve chosen to make it a joke.
We have chosen to look at the hypocrisy of Political Correctness and blow a raspberry at it.
I encourage all my fellow Crackers, be you Saltine, Ritz, Graham, Matzoh, Rye, Rice, Jalapeno, Wheat, or whatever, knock off the hating. It hasn’t gotten us anywhere. When something doesn’t work, it’s time to try something new. Instead of screaming, let’s have a laugh instead. And to the Crackers running FB, banning these sites while letting the REAL hate mongers spread their bile, really speaks ill of you folks. It’s rank hypocrisy.
Rise above it. Be part of the solution, not part of the problem.
